Description

Manages the purchasing and financing of MHE, warehouse supplies, new office set up and facility closures for both domestic and international facilities.  Obtain quotes and analyze data to provide cost effective proposals on the advantages of maintaining existing MHE or recommending the purchase of new equipment.   Review of costs and industry trends to negotiate contracts with National Accounts by effectively exploring alternatives to research outcomes that help company remain competitive and cost effective; research new National Accounts to determine if they meet the company’s criteria and needs; liaison with Account managers by using appropriate interpersonal and communication skills to gain acceptance of ideas and services.

Accountabilities

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Cost savings to warehouse locations for the purchasing and/or leasing of MHE, savings reflected in P/L.  Cost is measured thru the re-deployment of existing assets and actual cost compared to budgeted AFE start up cost. 
• Control cost for facilities regarding MHE, warehouse supplies vendors, office set up and closures.
• Negotiate with vendors, analyze information and implement National Programs to meet Corporate cost saving objectives as reflected in locations P/L statement of actual vs. budget.
• Manage & negotiate national account contracts and relationships with various vendors for use by both Liner and Logistics.
• Develop/design/create procedures and/or processes for operations to ensure corporate compliance on purchasing initiatives and work with facility management to ensure compliance is met.
• Control cost during the order placement and management of material handling equipment based on AFE approvals
• Manages the AFE process by collecting and analyzing financial data to prevent over runs.
• Establish and lead teams to evaluate and propose new national accounts for products and services to remain competitive and cost effective.
• Design and coordinate layout of warehouse offices and installation of office furniture and equipment to be in compliance with NOL policy.
• Manage re-deployment process of existing assets during facility closures to other sites; follow up of asset transfer, and outside sales of surplus equipment, furniture.
• Validate that field operations are in compliance with Xpedx warehouse supply program, negotiate favorable solutions as needed.
• Manage the 450 plus operating leases for MHE.  Manages the monthly review process for existing lease and make recommendation to field locations for renewals or return of equipment.  Manage the PEA’s and follow up on lease completions requiring signatures. Provide quotes and recommendations for MHE to field locations and BD for the costing of new business.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10 to15 years of Logistics Experience.
• 7 to 10 years contract negotiation and purchasing experience.

• Agent for change, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.
• Negotiating skills.
• Knowledge of Financial Statements, balance Sheets, and General Ledger.
